A Family-Centered Care (FCC) quality improvement project was implemented with nurses to promote families' and siblings' adaptation during the NICU hospitalization of a preterm infant. The objective of this quality improvement project was to compare the nurses' knowledge and perceptions as well as their implementation of nursing practices to facilitate the families' and siblings' adaptation during NICU hospitalization before and after they received the FCC educational intervention. ⋯ Findings of this quality improvement project reinforce the value of supporting NICU nurses with educational training programs to enhance their practice. This educational intervention represents an effort to foster the implementation of FCC in NICUs.

There is a growing international drive to deliver children's palliative care services closer to home. Families should have choice of where end of life (EOL) care is provided with home as one option. This review aims to establish the current international evidence base relating to children's EOL care at home. ⋯ This is the first comprehensive review of home-based EOL care for children which offers a valuable contribution to policy, practice and research. The evidence mapped and synthesised in this review can inform the development of services to facilitate the provision of EOL care at home in line with the unique wishes and needs of children and families.

To describe the feasibility and clinical utility of the Finnish FLACC scale when assessing children's pain in a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). ⋯ The Finnish FLACC scale is a helpful tool for nurses when assessing children's pain in a PICU. However, the Finnish version of the modified FLACC is needed for use with intubated children in the future.

This analysis seeks to clarify the concept of relatedness in physical activity (PA) among adolescents. ⋯ This comprehensive analysis provides a clarification of the conceptual definition of relatedness in PA among adolescents. The concept can guide nurses in designing interventions to improve health behavior or promoting changes in health policy. Future research is needed to refine operational definitions of relatedness so that they represent the defining attributes of the concept.

The purpose of this quality improvement project was to implement an educational intervention involving High-Fidelity Simulation (HFS) with deliberate practice for low-frequency, high-impact events in a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), with the goal of improving nurses' crisis management skills. ⋯ Regular in-situ simulation training with deliberate practice can improve nursing comfort with managing high-impact, low-frequency events in the PICU. This could lead to improved management of actual events, especially for novice nurses with less than one year of PICU experience.
