Currently, no study has evaluated metal accumulation in the brains of patients with Wilson's disease by using quantitative susceptibility mapping at 3T MRI. The objectives of this study were to qualitatively and quantitatively evaluate changes in magnetic susceptibility and R2* maps in deep gray matter nuclei to discriminate Wilson's disease patients from healthy controls and to evaluate their sensitivities in diagnosing Wilson's disease. ⋯ Quantitative susceptibility mapping at 3T could be a useful tool to evaluate metal accumulation in deep gray matter nuclei of Wilson's disease patients. © 2020 International Parkinson and Movement Disorder Society.

The COVID-19 pandemic restricted usual healthcare management for movement-disorders patients, with a consequent upsurge in telemedicine to bridge the gap. ⋯ Questions remain about the longevity and extent of changes in regulations and reimbursement regarding telemedicine in the aftermath of the pandemic. © 2020 International Parkinson and Movement Disorder Society.

The effect of environmental and lifestyle factors on patients with LRRK2 (leucine-rich repeat kinase 2) p.Gly2019Ser (LRRK2+ /PD+ ) compared to idiopathic PD (iPD) has yet to be thoroughly investigated. ⋯ Our data suggest that tobacco and black tea have a protective effect on age at onset in LRRK2+ /PD+ . © 2020 The Authors.
