Uterine leiomyosarcomas are rare and aggressive malignancies of the uterine corpus with high recurrence rates and poor prognoses. The current recommendation for detection of recurrent uterine leiomyosarcoma involves periodic physical examination and conventional imaging such as CT or MRI. The role of fluorine-18-fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography with integrated computed tomography (FDG-PET/CT) in the detection of recurrent uterine leiomyosarcomas is not yet established. ⋯ FDG-PET/CT as a single integrated modality may be a useful for the evaluation of suspected recurrent uterine leiomyosarcomas. FDG-PET negative discordant nodules detected on the CT component may represent metastases and should be followed up closely.

Previous studies have reported chest radiographic findings of consolidation and ground-glass opacity in patients with swine-origin influenza A (H1N1). However, most of these studies include both hospitalized and outpatients. ⋯ The pandemic 2009 swine influenza causes common and widely distributed infiltrates on chest radiographs among hospitalized patients, which are not peculiar to usual respiratory viral infections, and these findings can not be differentiated from usual bacterial pneumonia.

Endovenous laser ablation and foam sclerotherapy for varicose veins: does the presence of perforating vein insufficiency affect the treatment outcome?
Superficial venous insufficiency is a common problem associated with varicose veins. Endovenous laser ablation (EVLA) and concomitant ultrasound (US)-guided foam sclerotherapy are recent treatment methods alternative to surgery in the treatment of superficial venous insufficiency. ⋯ EVLA and concomitant US-guided foam sclerotherapy are effective, safe, and minimally invasive treatment options, yielding good cosmetic and clinical results in both isolated truncal and truncal with perforating vein insufficiency groups. However, clinical results and satisfaction of the patients were remarkably superior in cases with isolated truncal vein insufficiency compared to truncal and perforating vein insufficiency.

The number of conventional lymphographies has declined markedly since the introduction of cross-sectional imaging techniques. Nevertheless, lymphography has a high potential as a reliable method to visualize and directly occlude lymphatic leaks. When used as a distinct radiological procedure with the intention to treat, this application can be described as therapeutic lymphography. ⋯ Therapeutic lymphography is an effective method in the treatment of lymphatic leakage when conservative therapy fails. The volume of lymphatic drainage per day is a significant predictor of the therapeutical success rate.

Diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) has become increasingly valuable in lymph node imaging, yet the clinical utility of this technique in the staging of lymphoma has not been established. ⋯ Whole-body DWI is a promising technique for staging of both (aggressive and indolent) non-Hodgkin's lymphoma and HL.
