Conventional magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is adversely affected by thick slices, small intersection gaps, and the partial volume effect, leading to the missed diagnosis or misdiagnosis of pituitary micro-lesions. ⋯ Combined with routine sequences, post-contrast enhanced 3D-T2 SPACE sequences effectively improve diagnostic confidence in the diagnosis of pituitary micro-lesions. Post-contrast enhanced 3D-T2 SPACE is suitable for detecting pico-adenomas, micro-lesions adjacent to the cavernous sinuses or sellar floor, lesions between the anterior and posterior lobes, and lesions with early phase enhancement.

Sigmoid sinus wall reconstruction (SSWR) is a proven effective treatment for pulsatile tinnitus (PT) caused by sigmoid sinus wall dehiscence (SSWD) with or without sigmoid sinus diverticulum (SSD); however, comprehensive analysis of the postoperative imaging manifestations has not yet been reported. ⋯ Temporal bone contrast-enhanced HRCT can be used to observe imaging features of the mending materials, venous sinus, adjacent normal temporal bone and mastoid air cells following SSWR.

Magnetic resonance (MR) spectroscopy (1H-MRS) has been demonstrated to be useful in grading glioma, but the utility in assessing cellular proliferation activity and prognosis correlated with the expression of minichromosome maintenance protein 2 (MCM2) has not been reported. ⋯ Cho/Cr ratio has a potential in predicting the expression of MCM2 and can evaluate cell proliferative activity noninvasively. Both the Cho/Cr ratio and MCM2 expression are independent prognostic markers in patients with HGGs.

A novel, multi-energy, dual-layer spectral detector computed tomography (SDCT) is commercially available now with the vendor's claim that it yields the same or better quality of polychromatic, conventional CT images like modern single-energy CT scanners without any radiation dose penalty. ⋯ The SDCT scanner yielded better CT image quality compared to the CT128 and lower radiation dose parameters.

18F-fluorodeoxyglucose *Equal contributors. positron emission tomography/computed tomography (18F-FDG PET/CT) has proven to be a valuable imaging modality for the assessment of bone marrow condition. ⋯ FDG uptake showed a tendency to increase first then decrease from thoracic to sacral vertebrae while the tendency was not obvious in cervical vertebrae. In addition, the glycolytic metabolism of all the four regions decreased with advancing age.
