Randomized Controlled TrialEfficacy of transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation for pain relief in women undergoing office endometrial biopsy.
To evaluate the efficacy of transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS) for decreasing pain related with office endometrial biopsy. ⋯ TENS appears to be successful in decreasing pain only after the procedure undergoing office endometrial biopsy. It can be used as a simple, cheap, safe, and effective pain relief method.

Risk factors and microbial isolates of puerperal sepsis at the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital, Maiduguri, North-eastern Nigeria.
To determine the risk factors and microbial isolates of puerperal sepsis. ⋯ Puerperal sepsis continues to present a significant risk of maternal mortality in developing countries. The risk factors are unbooked women, home delivery, perineal trauma, caesarean section and maternal age <24 years. S. aureus and E. coli are the commonest isolated organisms. There is a need to enlighten the populace on the need for booking, skilled attendant at delivery and hospital delivery under aseptic conditions.

Uterine-sparing surgical management of postpartum hemorrhage: is it always effective?
To further study the efficacy of uterine-sparing procedures based on triple uterine artery ligation (TUAL) possibly complemented with hemostatic multiple square suturing (HMSS) for the management of post-partum hemorrhage (PPH). ⋯ Obstetricians should be aware that a higher risk of failure of the procedure is to be expected in cases of PPH due to placenta accreta. In such situation, to avoid any useless delay in management, our findings suggest that peripartum hysterectomy should be immediately considered.

Case ReportsSubmental lymph node metastasis from invasive ductal breast carcinoma.
This case report presents a 52-year-old woman with a submental swelling which arose 3 years after wide local excision and axillary lymphadenectomy for breast carcinoma. Histopathological examination after excision biopsy of this lesion confirmed the presence of invasive breast carcinoma in a submental lymph node. ⋯ This is the first description of a breast carcinoma metastasising to the submental region. Metastatic breast carcinoma should be considered in the differential diagnosis of head and neck lymphadenopathy in patients with previously diagnosed breast carcinoma.

Retrospective analysis of the efficacy of perioperative use of the cell salvage and autologous blood recovery system during laparoscopic myomectomy.
To evaluate the benefit of the intraoperative use of a cell salvage and autologous blood recovery system during laparoscopic myomectomy (LM). ⋯ The adoption of a cell salvage and autologous blood recovery system during LM was useful for patients with severe hemorrhage.
