Effect of botulinum toxin on pressure pain threshold and EMG power spectrum of masseter muscle during sustained fatiguing contraction.
The aims of this study were to test the effect of botulinum toxin on a reversible, prolonged, experimental pain and on muscle fatigue in human masseter muscle, both caused by a sustained clench. ⋯ We interpret the reduced change in pressure pain threshold with botulinum toxin as a clinically modest but statistically significant analgesic effect on this model of acute muscle pain.

The effect of back school integrated with core strengthening in patients with chronic low-back pain.
To assess the effect of back school integrated with core-strengthening exercises on back-specific disability and pain-coping strategies and to examine how reactions to pain affect the outcomes of back school in patients with chronic low back pain. ⋯ Our back school program may help patients with chronic low back pain reduce back-specific disability and pain and develop wellness-focused coping strategies such as exercise and stretching.
