Development and validation of a machine learning model to predict postoperative delirium using a nationwide database: A retrospective, observational study.
Postoperative delirium is a neuropsychological syndrome that typically occurs in surgical patients. Its onset can lead to prolonged hospitalization as well as increased morbidity and mortality. Therefore, it is important to promptly identify its signs. This study aimed to develop and validate a machine learning predictive model for postoperative delirium using extensive population data. ⋯ Using extensive Diagnostic Procedure Combination data, we successfully created and validated a machine learning model for predicting postoperative delirium. This model may facilitate prediction of postoperative delirium.

Evaluation of the association between intraoperative hypotension (IOH) and important postoperative outcomes after liver transplant such as incidence and severity of acute kidney injury (AKI), MACE and early allograft dysfunction (EAD). ⋯ Our results did not show the association between IOH and investigated outcomes.

Higher levels of carbon dioxide (CO2) increase the invasive abilities of colon cancer cells in vitro. Studies assessing target values for end-tidal CO2 concentrations (EtCO2) to improve surgical outcome after colorectal cancer surgery are lacking. Therefore, we evaluated whether intraoperative EtCO2 was associated with differences in recurrence-free survival after elective colorectal cancer (CRC) surgery. ⋯ Lower intraoperative EtCO2 target values in CRC surgery might benefit oncological outcome and should be evaluated in confirmative studies.

Clavipectoral fascia plane block in midshaft clavicle fractures: A cadaveric study.
The objective of this anatomical study was to investigate the distribution of a solution administered using the Clavipectoral Fascia Plane Block (CPB) technique in a series of cadaveric models with midshaft clavicular fractures. The study aimed to address the knowledge gap regarding the impact of clavicular fractures on the distribution pattern of the CPB-administered solution. ⋯ The study reveals that the presence of a midshaft clavicular fracture does not significantly alter the diffusion pattern of the CPB-administered solution, maintaining a consistent distribution in both intact and fractured clavicle models.
