There are delays in providing experienced staff and timely operations. Mortality varies inexplicably between hospitals and, for blunt trauma, is generally higher than in the United States.

Warming lignocaine to reduce pain associated with injection.
To investigate the effect of warming lignocaine on the pain associated with subcutaneous injection. ⋯ The simple procedure of warming to 37 degrees C reduced the pain associated with subcutaneous injection of lignocaine.

To compile a district wide diabetic register of all diabetic patients registered with general practitioners in the catchment area of a single district general hospital and to compare different approaches to identifying patients. ⋯ The task of developing district diabetic registers may prove, even in one cross sectional attempt, a major task in many inner city health districts.
