There are limitations of using 2D imaging to accurately size the aortic annulus. This article highlights the limitations of 2D technology and proposes a new 3D TEE method for sizing of the aortic annulus. ⋯ The method described in this article is complementary to multidetector computed tomography and provides a real-time measurement of the annulus during the TAVR procedure without need for radiographic contrast.

To assess the occurrence, correlation, and clinical outcome of intraprocedural stent thrombosis (IPST) in patients undergoing primary percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) in the setting of acute coronary syndromes (ACSs). ⋯ IPST was a rare complication of PCI in the setting of ACS. It correlated with lesion morphology, presence of thrombus at baseline and was more likely to cause MACEs in 30 days and 1-year follow-up.

Randomized Controlled Trial
Rationale and design of the on-treatment PLAtelet Reactivity-Guided Therapy Modification FOR ST-Segment Elevation Myocardial Infarction (PLATFORM) randomized trial.
The present trial aims at examining whether antiplatelet regimen modification, guided by assessment of the on-treatment platelet reactivity, might result with clinical benefit in moderate to high-risk patients with ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) undergoing primary percutaneous coronary intervention (PPCI). ⋯ U.S. National Institutes of Health (NIH) at www.clinicaltrials.gov.
