Derivation and validation of a prediction model for histopathologic fibrotic hypersensitivity pneumonitis.
Clinical differentiation of fibrotic hypersensitivity pneumonitis (f-HP) remains challenging given variable and overlapping presentations with other fibrotic interstitial lung disease (f-ILD). ⋯ This multivariable model demonstrated good predictive performance for delineating histopathologically-defined f-HP from other f-ILD as a means of avoiding or justifying biopsy and supporting MDD diagnostic confidence.

Radiographic severity and treatment outcome of Mycobacterium abscessus complex pulmonary disease.
The lack of reliable predictors for the treatment response complicates decisions to initiate treatment in patients with Mycobacterium abscessus complex pulmonary disease (MABC-PD). We aimed to investigate whether baseline radiographic disease severity is associated with treatment outcome in MABC-PD. ⋯ Given the association between baseline radiographic disease severity and treatment outcome, initiating treatment should be actively considered before significant progression of radiographic lesions in patients with MABC-PD.

Incidence of acute exacerbation of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis in patients receiving antifibrotic agents: Real-world experience.
Acute exacerbation of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (AE-IPF) is a fatal event that can occur during the clinical course of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF). Although data from clinical trials suggest that the antifibrotic agents pirfenidone and nintedanib might reduce the risk of AE-IPF, the incidence of AE-IPF in patients receiving antifibrotic agents in clinical settings is unclear. ⋯ The reduction in AE-IPF risk might be greater for pirfenidone than for nintedanib.
