Identifying and prioritizing technical procedures in otorhinolaryngology for simulation-based training: a national needs assessment in Denmark.
To conduct a national needs assessment using a structured approach to identify and prioritize technical skills and procedures in otorhinolaryngology (ORL) for simulation-based training. ⋯ As educational decisions are increasingly required to be evidence-based, this study represents a structured approach to identifying procedures for simulation-based training in ORL. Budesonide nasal irrigation improved Lund-Kennedy endoscopic score of chronic rhinosinusitis patients after endoscopic sinus surgery.
Budesonide improves the prognosis of chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS). However, few reports have examined whether its use for nasal irrigation, compared to normal saline, improves the prognosis of patients after endoscopic sinus surgery (ESS). We compared the effects of nasal irrigation with budesonide and normal saline in CRS patients after ESS. ⋯ Nasal irrigation improved the prognosis of CRS patients after ESS. Budesonide nasal irrigation had a better effect than normal saline nasal irrigation.

Physical and psychological outcomes of simple sigmoid sinus bony wall repair for pulsatile tinnitus due to sigmoid sinus wall anomalies.
Pulsatile tinnitus (PT) due to sigmoid sinus wall anomalies (SSWA) is a common health disorder. The purpose of this study is to investigate the efficiency of simple sigmoid sinus bony wall repair on tinnitus relief and psychological improvement. ⋯ Simple repair of sigmoid sinus bony wall defects was an effective way to reduce the physical impact as well as the psychological impact of PT due to SSWA. The defect of sigmoid sinus bony wall played a key role in the pathophysiology of PT due to SSWA.
