Randomized Controlled Trial Multicenter Study
Three-arm randomised controlled phase 2 study comparing pemetrexed and erlotinib to either pemetrexed or erlotinib alone as second-line treatment for never-smokers with non-squamous non-small cell lung cancer.
This randomised controlled phase 2 study compared pemetrexed and erlotinib in combination with either agent alone in terms of efficacy and safety as second-line treatment in a clinically selected population of never-smokers with non-squamous non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). ⋯ Pemetrexed-erlotinib significantly improved PFS compared to either drug alone in this clinically selected population. The combination had more toxicity, but was clinically manageable.

Randomized Controlled Trial Multicenter Study
Imatinib discontinuation in chronic phase myeloid leukaemia patients in sustained complete molecular response: a randomised trial of the Dutch-Belgian Cooperative Trial for Haemato-Oncology (HOVON).
Tyrosine kinase inhibitors treatment in responding chronic myeloid leukaemia (CML) patients is generally continued indefinitely. In this randomised phase II trial, we investigated whether CML patients in molecular response(4.5) (MR(4.5), quantitative reverse-transcription polymerase chain reaction (RQ-PCR)) after previous combination therapy with imatinib and cytarabine may discontinue imatinib treatment safely. ⋯ Our data suggest that discontinuation of imatinib is safe in patients with durable MR(4.5).
