ReviewProtocol for scoping review: Mapping the landscape of acute pain management in sports-related musculoskeletal injuries.
Acute pain management is critical in sports-related musculoskeletal injuries to facilitate recovery and minimize long-term impact. While current practices vary, incorporating both pharmacological and non-pharmacological approaches, the quality and breadth of existing evidence have not been thoroughly assessed. This scoping review aims to explore the clinical role of different pain management strategies and provide a comprehensive overview of the field. ⋯ This scoping review will evaluate various pain management interventions for acute musculoskeletal injuries in sports, mapping the current evidence and identifying gaps in research. The findings will help inform clinical practices and guide future research efforts to optimize pain management strategies in sports medicine.

Events preceding death after high-risk surgery analyzed by Global Trigger Tool and reflective-thematic approach.
Postoperative mortality might be influenced by postoperative care, vigilance, and competence to rescue. This study aims to describe the course of events preceding death in a high-risk surgical cohort. ⋯ A high predicted risk of death and a peak of adverse events on the day of index surgery were detected. Identified themes reflect lack of documented multi-professional consensus on how to handle prevalent perioperative risk, vigilance, and postoperative level of care.

Review Meta AnalysisPaediatric postoperative acute kidney injury after non-cardiac surgery: Protocol for a systematic review and meta-analysis.
Paediatric acute kidney injury (AKI) is associated with significant adverse outcomes such as increased mortality, progression to chronic kidney disease and longer length of stay in hospital. Postoperative AKI is a common and recognized complication after surgery in adults. In the paediatric population, AKI postoperatively to cardiac surgery has been extensively studied. However, the incidence of postoperative AKI after non-cardiac surgery is less clear. Therefore, we aim to assess the available literature on this topic. ⋯ This systematic review aims to investigate the incidence of postoperative AKI in the paediatric non-cardiac surgery population. The results of this review will provide a foundation for future research in the field of paediatric postoperative AKI.

Review Practice GuidelineSmall-volume blood sample collection tubes in adult intensive care units: A rapid practice guideline.
This Intensive Care Medicine Rapid Practice Guideline (ICM-RPG) provides an evidence-based recommendation to address the question: in adult patients in intensive care units (ICUs), should we use small-volume or conventional blood collection tubes? ⋯ This ICM-RPG panel made a strong recommendation for the use of small-volume sample collection tubes in adult ICUs based on overall moderate certainty evidence.
