Migration characteristics of the Corail hydroxyapatite-coated femoral stem-a retrospective clinical evaluation and migration measurement with EBRA.
Uncemented stem migration analysis by EBRA-FCA (Einzel-Bild-Roentgen Analyse, Femoral Component Analysis) has been seen to be a good predictive indicator for early implant failure. In this study, we investigated the migration behavior of a cementless press-fit stem after two years follow-up. Stem type and postoperative gap between collar and femur were evaluated as a risk factor. ⋯ Low subsidence and the migration pattern of the cementless press-fit stem may predict a good long-term result. Collared stems investigated in our study provide good stability and are able to prevent significant subsidence. Review Case ReportsSurgical resection of a giant intramuscular lipoma of the biceps brachii: a case report and review of the literature.
Lipomas are frequent benign soft-tissue tumors mainly located in the subcutis. Occasionally, subfascial or inter- or intramuscular lipomas are encountered. This case report describes the surgical management of a very rare giant intramuscular lipoma of the right biceps brachii muscle in a 71-year-old male patient. Preoperative magnetic resonance imaging as well as intraoperative photographs depict the complexity of this case and aid in the discussion about indications for surgery, as management guidelines of these deep-seated tumors are still inconsistent.

A comparison of 6-month outcomes between periacetabular osteotomy with concomitant hip arthroscopy to isolated hip arthroscopy for femoroacetabular impingement.
To compare early outcomes of periacetabular osteotomy (PAO) with concomitant hip arthroscopy to isolated hip arthroscopy for femoroacetabular impingement (FAI) and chondrolabral pathology using patient-reported outcomes measurement information system (PROMIS). ⋯ Outcomes at 6 months were not significantly different when comparing PAO + HA to HA for FAI and chondrolabral pathology in females under 30 years of age. The more extensive surgery with a prolonged protective period associated with PAO do not seem to negatively impact outcomes at 6 months when compared to HA. These finding support the use of PAO + HA, particularly if the patient and/or surgeon were concerned about prolonged disability, metal health issues, and/or higher pain levels that might be associated with the PAO procedure.

Three-dimensional acetabular orientation during periacetabular osteotomy: a video analysis of acetabular rim position using an external fixator as navigation tool during reorientation procedure.
Bernese periacetabular osteotomy is an effective procedure for treating acetabular dysplasia. However, limited visual control of the acetabular position during surgery may result in under- or overcorrection with residual dysplasia or femoroacetabular impingement. Thus, we wanted to find a simple method to control the effect of correction in the sagittal and coronal plane. ⋯ Three-dimensional control of the acetabular orientation during periacetabular osteotomy is important to avoid over- and under-correction. Isolated lateral rotation of the acetabular fragment should be the predominant direction of correction during periacetabular osteotomy. Ambitious anterior correction may be the main source for severe acetabular retroversion following periacetabular osteotomy.
