Tibial tunnel enlargement is affected by the tunnel diameter-screw ratio in tibial hybrid fixation for hamstring ACL reconstruction.
There is no evidence on screw diameter with regards to tunnel size in anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction (ACLR) using hybrid fixation devices. The hypothesis was that an undersized tunnel coverage by the tibial screw leads to subsequent tunnel enlargement in ACLR in hybrid fixation technique. ⋯ Tibial tunnel widening was affected by the tunnel diameter coverage ratio. To minimize the likelihood of disadvantageous tunnel expansion-which is of importance in case of revision surgery-an interference screw should not undercut the tunnel diameter by more than 1 mm.

Iatrogenic instability of the acromioclavicular joint leads to ongoing impairment of shoulder function even following secondary surgical stabilization.
Iatrogenic instability of the acromioclavicular joint (ACJ) following distal clavicle excision (DCE) represents an infrequent pathology. Revision surgery to restore ACJ stability and alleviate concomitant pain is challenging due to altered anatomic relationships. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the used salvage techniques and postoperative functional and radiological outcomes in retrospectively identify patients with a painful ACJ following DCE. We hypothesized that iatrogenic instability leads to ongoing impairment of shoulder function despite secondary surgical stabilization. ⋯ Case series, LEVEL IV.

Impact of increasing total knee replacement constraint within a single implant line on coronal stability: an ex vivo investigation.
Despite the existence of diverse total knee implant designs, few data is available on the relationship between the level of implant constraint and the postoperative joint stability in the frontal plane and strain in the collateral ligaments. The current study aimed to document this relation in an ex vivo setting. ⋯ V.

Observational StudyDual-scale single marker calibration for digital templating of total hip arthroplasty in standing radiographs: a prospective clinical study.
Accuracy of calibration of radiographs significantly influences the quality of digital templating for total hip arthroplasty (THA). The standard of care is calibration with external calibration markers (ECM). This method is associated with significant errors. Dual-scale single marker (DSSM) calibration methods may improve accuracy. The present prospective observational study is the first to analyze the application of a DSSM method in standing pelvis radiographs. ⋯ DSSM method showed superior results in comparison to the ECM method for calibration of digital radiographs. DSSM could be used to improve digital templating in standing radiographs.

Long-term outcomes of ilio-sacral screws in minimally invasive bipolar fusionless technique for neuromuscular scoliosis: a retrospective study in 167 patients.
Pelvic fixation in patients with neuromuscular scoliosis is difficult, due to their fragile general condition and poor bone quality. Many techniques have been described, associated with high rates of mechanical complications. The objective of this work was to evaluate the mechanical complications and long-term radiological results of ilio-sacral screw pelvic fixation. ⋯ In this series of neuromuscular patients operated by ilio-sacral screws as pelvic fixation, the results were stable with a mean follow-up of more than 6 years and the complication rate was reduced comparatively to the literature.
