Second line platinum-based intraperitoneal chemotherapy for advanced ovarian cancer.
To report the results of ovarian cancer treatment, where a regimen of intravenous cyclophosphamide followed by intraperitoneal cisplatin or carboplatin was administered as second line treatment. ⋯ IP can be used in second line treatment of ovarian cancer, but six treatment cycles appear associated with worse results compared to four.

To investigate the use of oxytocin for augmentation of labor and its relation to labor progress and delivery outcome. ⋯ Oxytocin augmentation was undertaken in an unstructured manner; some women were inadequately treated and others were treated unnecessarily. Oxytocin recipients with LD underwent operative delivery to a higher extent than oxytocin recipients without LD, suggesting that the main reason for CS was the underlying problem of LD rather than the oxytocin augmentation itself.

Predictive social factors in relation to preterm birth in a metropolitan region.
Preterm birth is an important indicator of neonatal wellbeing. Infants born preterm are at higher risk for severe morbidity and mortality. Apart from medical risk factors, social factors are also associated with preterm birth. This study aims to provide knowledge on factors which have a predictive role in relation to preterm birth. ⋯ Being a teenage or single mother are important social risk factors for preterm birth. We hypothesize that the increased risk is related to prenatal care trajectories. To obtain a better understanding of preterm birth occurrences, further research should focus on mapping these trajectories and specifically targeting the most vulnerable groups.

A possible association between maternal dyspepsia and congenital rectal/anal atresia/stenosis in their children: a population-based case-control study.
To study the possible association of common dyspepsia including heartburn and gastro-esophageal reflux disease and its related drug treatments in pregnant women with congenital anomalies (CAs) in their offspring. ⋯ Severe chronic dyspepsia in early pregnancy and drug treatment for this was not associated with a higher risk of CAs, except possibly isolated rectal/anal atresia/stenosis.

Controlled Clinical TrialDiscontinuation of oxytocin in the active phase of labor.
To show that early discontinuation of oxytocin will not increase the mean duration of the active labor phase in a clinically significant way. ⋯ Discontinuation of oxytocin at the onset of the active phase prolongs labor. We found no argument for discontinuing the infusion of oxytocin at the onset of the active phase.
