Comparative StudyThe investigation of airway management capacity of v-gel and cobra-PLA in anaesthetised rabbits.
To evaluate the applicability and airway management capacity of v-gel® and Cobra PLA in rabbit anaesthesia during assisted (AV) or controlled ventilation (CV). ⋯ The v-gel may be used as airway device in rabbit anaesthesia undergoing AV or CV and also can be a suitable alternative to endotracheal tubes and laryngeal mask airway.

Review Meta AnalysisPreemptive analgesia effects of ketamine in patients undergoing surgery. A meta-analysis.
To evaluate the preemptive analgesia effects of ketamine for postoperative pain. ⋯ Ketamine was able to accomplish some preemptive analgesic effects of reducing postoperative morphine consumption and prolonging the time to first analgesic. Meanwhile, ketamine was as safe as physiological saline in side effects of nausea and vomiting.

Comparative StudyComparison of effects of sugammadex and neostigmine on QTc prolongation in rabbits under general anesthesia.
To compare the effects of sugammadex and neostigmine, used to antagonize the effects of rocuronium, on the QTc interval. ⋯ While sugammadex, administered to antagonize the effect of rocuronium, did not significantly affect the QTc interval, neostigmine+atropine proloned the QTc interval.

Randomized Controlled TrialAssociation of lipophilic opioids and hyperbaric bupivacaine in spinal anesthesia for elective cesarean section. Randomized controlled study.
To evaluate the efficacy and side-effects of fentanyl and sufentanil combined with hyperbaric spinal bupivacaine in elective cesarean section. ⋯ The addition of fentanyl and sufentanil to hyperbaric subarachnoid bupivacaine was shown to be effective for the performance of cesarean section, and safe for the mother and fetus. Analgesia was more prolonged with sufentanil.

Pentoxifylline associated to hypertonic saline solution attenuates inflammatory process and apoptosis after intestinal ischemia/reperfusion in rats.
To evaluate intestinal inflammatory and apoptotic processes after intestinal ischemia/reperfusion injury, modulated by pentoxifylline and hypertonic saline. ⋯ The combined use of pentoxifylline and hypertonic saline offers best results on inflammatory and apoptotic inhibitory aspects after intestinal ischemia/reperfusion.
