The effect of activated protein C in the experimental disseminated intravascular coagulation model formed by lipopolysaccharide infusion.
In this experimental study, activated protein C (APC), which has anticoagulant, antithrombotic, profibrinolytic, anti-inflammatory and antiapoptotic properties, was used to prevent coagulopathy in a disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC) model formatted with lipopolysaccharide (LPS) infusion. ⋯ Use of APC can prevent hypercoagulation and consumption coagulopathy in the DIC as a result of correcting hematological parameters other than prolongation of coagulation time.

Milk fat globule-epidermal growth factor 8 (MFG-E8) attenuates sepsis-induced acute kidney injury by inhibiting NF-κB signaling pathway1.
To explore the effect of milk fat globule-epidermal growth factor 8 (MFG-E8) on sepsis-induced acute kidney injury (SAKI). ⋯ MFG-E8 has beneficial effects on SAKI, which may be achieved by inhibiting the NF-κB pathway.

To validate the porcine spine as a model for learning and practicing transforaminal percutaneous endoscopic lumbar procedures (TF-PELP). ⋯ This is an effective and representative model for learning and practicing this procedure. Difficulties of the procedure, as well as the differences compared to the human spine, were described.

Apoptotic mechanisms in rabbits with blast-induced acute lung injury 1.
To investigate the apoptotic mechanisms in rabbits with blast-induced acute lung injury (ALI). ⋯ Apoptosis plays an important role in the occurrence and development of acute lung injury in rabbits by participating in lung injury and promoting the progression of ALI.

NF-kB mediated CX3CL1 activation in the dorsal root ganglion contributes to the maintenance of neuropathic pain induced in adult male Sprague Dawley rats1.
To evaluate the role of CX3CL1 and NF-κB in the lumbar disc herniation induced neuropathic pain. ⋯ CX3XL1 could regulate LDH-induced neuropathic pain through NF-κB pathway. Targeting CX3CL1 and NF-κB may represent a potential treatment for neuropathic pain caused by LDH.
