Comparative StudySequences of emotions in patients with borderline personality disorder.
To investigate sequences of emotions (temporal dependence of emotions) to identify specific patterns of borderline personality disorder (BPD). ⋯ Persistence of sadness and anxiety, as well as emotional oscillating between anxiety, sadness and anger are important aspects of the emotional dysregulation in BPD patients.

Clinical TrialPretreatment frontal EEG and changes in suicidal ideation during SSRI treatment in major depressive disorder.
We investigated frontal quantitative EEG (QEEG) as predictor of changes in suicidal ideation (SI) during SSRI treatment in major depressive disorder (MDD). ⋯ Frontal QEEG parameters before treatment may predict worsening SI during SSRI treatment in MDD.

ReviewA review of instruments developed to measure outcomes for carers of people with mental health problems.
Community-based care for mental disorders places considerable burden on families and carers. Measuring their experiences has become a priority, but there is no consensus on appropriate instruments. We aimed to review instruments carers consider relevant to their needs and assess evidence for their use. ⋯ Measures exist which have been used to assess the most salient aspects of carers outcome in mental health. All require further work to establish their psychometric properties fully.

Long-term suicide risk of depression in the Lundby cohort 1947-1997--severity and gender.
The long-term suicide risk of depression was evaluated in a community sample by severity and gender. ⋯ Males with a severe depression showed a high long-term risk for suicide, around 20%.
