Comparative StudyQuantifying angiogenesis in VEGF-enhanced tissue-engineered bladder constructs by dynamic contrast-enhanced MRI using contrast agents of different molecular weights.
To compare Gadomer, a macromolecular magnetic resonance (MR) contrast agent, and gadolinium diethylenetriamine pentaacetic acid (Gd-DTPA) for quantifying angiogenesis in tissue-engineered bladder constructs. ⋯ Macromolecular contrast agents are valuable for monitoring angiogenesis in tissue-engineered bladder grafts. Compared to Gd-DTPA, Gadomer provides more accurate and precise quantification of microvessel function, and is better suited to pharmacokinetic analysis for accurate physiological quantification.

Comparative StudyDiagnosis of breast tumors by contrast-enhanced MR imaging: comparison between the diagnostic performance of dynamic enhancement patterns and morphologic features.
To compare the diagnostic performance of breast lesions by the enhancement patterns and morphologic criteria on magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). ⋯ The analysis of the morphologic features of enhancing breast lesions alone showed higher diagnostic performance; therefore, signal intensity (SI) time-course data may not be needed to diagnose malignant breast lesions.

Correlations between dynamic contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging-derived measures of tumor microvasculature and interstitial fluid pressure in patients with cervical cancer.
To correlate permeability (rk(trans)), extracellular volume fraction (rv(e)), relative to muscle and initial area under the enhancement curve (IAUC(60m)) determined by dynamic contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging (DCE-MRI) with in vivo measurements of interstitial fluid pressure (IFP) in patients with cervical cancer. ⋯ There is a moderate negative correlation between IAUC(60m), rk(trans), and IFP in cervical cancer. This suggests that these parameters may be of value in assessment of tumor behavior.

Breast MRI lesion classification: improved performance of human readers with a backpropagation neural network computer-aided diagnosis (CAD) system.
To develop and test a computer-aided diagnosis (CAD) system to improve the performance of radiologists in classifying lesions on breast MRI (BMRI). ⋯ A CAD system based on lesion morphology and enhancement kinetics can improve the performance of human readers in classifying lesions on breast MRI.

Prostate cancer screening: the clinical value of diffusion-weighted imaging and dynamic MR imaging in combination with T2-weighted imaging.
To evaluate the clinical value of diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) and dynamic MRI in combination with T2-weighted imaging (T2W) for the detection of prostate cancer. ⋯ In patients with elevated serum PSA levels, the combination of T2W, DWI, and dynamic MRI may be a valuable tool for detecting prostate cancer and avoiding an unnecessary biopsy without missing prostate cancer.
