T1rho MRI of menisci in patients with osteoarthritis at 3 Tesla: a preliminary study.
To compare and assess subregional, compartmental, and whole T1rho values of menisci in patients with doubtful-minimal (Kellgren-Lawrence [KL] grade 1-2) as compared to moderate-severe (KL3-4) osteoarthritis (OA) and healthy controls at 3 Tesla (T). ⋯ Significant elevations of T1rho values in specific regions of menisci in both KL1-2 and KL3-4 OA patients indicate that T1rho mapping may be sensitive to meniscus degeneration. The preliminary results suggest that damage in the medial posterior subregion and medial compartment of menisci may possibly be associated with osteoarthritis.

Susceptibility-weighted imaging (SWI) has become a key MR sequence in pediatric neuroimaging. The usage of SWI has significantly expanded recently. ⋯ We are continuing to harness the power of SWI in the field of pediatric neuroimaging. In this paper, we will make a comprehensive review and discuss the utility of SWI in pediatric neuroimaging in establishing the diagnosis, differential diagnosis, and also understanding the pathomechanism of various pediatric brain pathologies.

Comparative StudyDo preprocessing algorithms and statistical models influence voxel-based morphometry (VBM) results in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis patients? A systematic comparison of popular VBM analytical methods.
To study whether inconsistent findings in voxel-based morphometry (VBM) in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) brain are due to use of different data preprocessing and statistical methods in two software packages. ⋯ The differences in GM volume atrophy measures found by FSL and SPM analytic methods indicate that variable results in previous VBM studies may arise from differences in their image processing algorithms and statistical models.
