Exploration of male urethral sphincter complex using diffusion tensor imaging (DTI)-based fiber-tracking.
Urinary incontinence is a major clinical problem arising primarily from age-related degenerative changes to the sphincter muscles. However, the precise anatomy of the normal male sphincter muscles has yet to be established. Diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) may offer a unique insight into muscle microstructure and fiber architecture. ⋯ 1 Technical Efficacy: Stage 2 J. Magn. Reson. Imaging 2018;48:1002-1011.

Renal function varies according to the nature and stage of diseases. Renal functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI), a technique considered superior to the most common method used to estimate the glomerular filtration rate, allows for noninvasive, accurate measurements of renal structures and functions in both animals and humans. ⋯ Function-related imaging markers can be acquired via renal fMRI, encompassing water molecular diffusion, perfusion, and oxygenation. This review focuses on the progression and challenges of the main renal fMRI methods, including dynamic contrast-enhanced MRI, blood oxygen level-dependent MRI, diffusion-weighted imaging, diffusion tensor imaging, arterial spin labeling, fat fraction imaging, and their recent clinical applications.

Meta Analysis Comparative StudyComparison between 3D isotropic and 2D conventional MR arthrography for diagnosing rotator cuff tear and labral lesions: A meta-analysis.
Although 3D-isotropic MR arthrography has been characterized as a substitute imaging tool for rotator cuff tear (RCT) and labral lesions, it has not been commonly used in clinical practice because of controversy related to image blurring and indistinctness of structural edges. ⋯ 2 Technical Efficacy: Stage 3 J. Multicenter StudyMulticenter reproducibility study of diffusion MRI and fiber tractography of the lumbosacral nerves.
Diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) has been applied in the lumbar and sacral nerves in vivo, but information about the reproducibility of this method is needed before DTI can be used reliably in clinical practice across centers. ⋯ 1 Technical Efficacy: Stage 2 J. Magn. Reson. Imaging 2018;48:951-963.

Radiomics Strategy for Molecular Subtype Stratification of Lower-Grade Glioma: Detecting IDH and TP53 Mutations Based on Multimodal MRI.
Noninvasive detection of isocitrate dehydrogenase (IDH) and TP53 mutations are meaningful for molecular stratification of lower-grade gliomas (LrGG). ⋯ 3 Technical Efficacy: Stage 2 J. Magn. Reson. Imaging 2018;48:916-926.
