Development and evaluation of TWIST Dixon for dynamic contrast-enhanced (DCE) MRI with improved acquisition efficiency and fat suppression.
To develop a new pulse sequence called time-resolved angiography with stochastic trajectories (TWIST) Dixon for dynamic contrast enhanced magnetic resonance imaging (DCE-MRI). ⋯ The results from phantom and volunteer evaluation suggest that TWIST Dixon outperforms conventional methods in almost every aspect and it is a promising method for DCE-MRI and contrast-enhanced perfusion MRI, especially at higher field strength where fat suppression is challenging.

Comparison of pulsed and pseudocontinuous arterial spin-labeling for measuring CO2 -induced cerebrovascular reactivity.
To compare the performance of pulsed and pseudocontinuous arterial spin-labeling (PASL and pCASL) methods in measuring CO(2) -induced cerebrovascular reactivity (CVR). ⋯ pCASL may be less prone to underestimation of CO(2) -induced flow changes due to improved label timing control.

Correlation of volume transfer coefficient Ktrans with histopathologic grades of gliomas.
To evaluate the roles of dynamic contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging (DCE-MRI) and optimum tracer kinetic parameters in the noninvasive grading of the glial brain tumors with histopathological grades (I-IV). ⋯ K(trans) is the most sensitive and specific parameter in noninvasive grading, distinguishing the high (III and IV) from the low (I and II) grade and high grade III from low grade II gliomas.

Comparative StudyClinical utility of apparent diffusion coefficient values obtained using high b-value when diagnosing prostate cancer using 3 tesla MRI: comparison between ultra-high b-value (2000 s/mm²) and standard high b-value (1000 s/mm²).
To determine whether the apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) obtained using b = 2000 s/mm(2) upon 3 Tesla (T) diffusion-weighted MRI is superior to b = 1000 s/mm(2) for discriminating malignant from normal prostate tissue and predicting the aggressiveness of prostate cancer, using histopathological findings of radical prostatectomy as a reference. ⋯ For 3T MRI, ADCs using b = 0,2000 are more accurate than b = 0,1000 for diagnosing PZ cancer, and as accurate for TZ cancer.

ReviewLow b-value diffusion-weighted imaging: emerging applications in the body.
Thanks to recent advances in magnetic resonance imaging technology, it has become possible to perform intravoxel incoherent motion (IVIM) diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) in any part of the body. Extracranial applications of DWI are currently under active investigation, especially for oncological imaging. ⋯ Non-quantitative low b-value DWI may especially be useful for the evaluation of structures that have an inherently low signal at high b-value DWI, including (but not limited to) the liver, heart, and small bowel. This article will review and discuss the basic principles and potential applications of nonquantitative low b-value DWI in the body.
