To evaluate the diagnostic yield of postmortem magnetic resonance imaging (PM-MRI) compared with conventional autopsy in fetuses of early gestational age and low body weight. ⋯ PM-MRI is highly likely to provide adequate diagnostic images for fetuses with a body weight > 500 g. Below this weight, the diagnostic yield of standard 1.5-T PM-MRI decreases significantly. These data should help inform parents and clinicians on the suitability of performing PM-MRI in fetuses with low body weight. Copyright © 2015 ISUOG. Published by John Wiley & Sons Ltd.

Review Meta AnalysisSystematic review and meta-analysis of isolated posterior fossa malformations on prenatal ultrasound imaging (part 1): nomenclature, diagnostic accuracy and associated anomalies.
To explore the outcome in fetuses with prenatal diagnosis of posterior fossa anomalies apparently isolated on ultrasound imaging. ⋯ DWM apparently isolated on ultrasound imaging is a condition with a high risk for chromosomal and associated structural anomalies. Isolated MCM and BPC have a low risk for aneuploidy or associated structural anomalies. Tissue Doppler imaging in fetuses with aortic stenosis and evolving hypoplastic left heart syndrome before and after fetal aortic valvuloplasty.
Fetal aortic valvuloplasty can improve filling and reduce afterload of the left ventricle in critical aortic stenosis. Success of an intrauterine intervention is currently measured by technical success, clinical survival and eventual postnatal biventricular physiology. In the present study we investigated the use of tissue Doppler imaging (TDI) to evaluate changes in ventricular function assessed before and after prenatal aortic valvuloplasty. ⋯ Technically successful fetal aortic valvuloplasty led to significantly improved myocardial performance. It was possible to use TDI to detect distinct changes in ventricular function and TDI-derived parameters correlated with a biventricular outcome after birth. Copyright © 2015 ISUOG. Longitudinal changes in maternal serum placental growth factor and soluble fms-like tyrosine kinase-1 in women at increased risk of pre-eclampsia.
To investigate longitudinal changes in maternal serum levels of placental growth factor (PlGF) and soluble fms-like tyrosine kinase-1 (sFlt-1) in pregnant women who develop pre-eclampsia (PE) or gestational hypertension (GH). ⋯ Repeat measurements of the biochemical markers used in this study are likely to be better predictors of PE than are measurements at a single time point during pregnancy, as the differences between normotensive and hypertensive pregnancies increase with gestational age. In screening for preterm PE, maternal serum level of PlGF is a useful marker from the first trimester onward, while the level of sFlt-1 is likely to have a predictive value from the second trimester onward. Randomized Controlled TrialRandomized, controlled, double-blind trial of topical lidocaine gel and intrauterine lidocaine infusion for pain relief during saline contrast sonohysterography.
To evaluate the efficacy of topical lidocaine gel and intrauterine lidocaine infusion administered prior to saline contrast sonohysterography (SCSH) in reducing pain level during the procedure. ⋯ SCSH performed with an infant feeding tube without balloon is associated with very low pain levels. Topical lidocaine gel application and intrauterine lidocaine infusion do not further reduce pain levels during SCSH.
