Review Meta AnalysisAccuracy of transvaginal ultrasound for diagnosis of deep endometriosis in uterosacral ligaments, rectovaginal septum, vagina and bladder: systematic review and meta-analysis.
To review the diagnostic accuracy of transvaginal ultrasound (TVS) in the preoperative detection of endometriosis in the uterosacral ligaments (USL), rectovaginal septum (RVS), vagina and bladder in patients with clinical suspicion of deep infiltrating endometriosis (DIE). ⋯ Overall diagnostic performance of TVS for detecting DIE in uterosacral ligaments, rectovaginal septum, vagina and bladder is fair with high specificity.

Multicenter Study Observational StudyPrediction of delivery mode by ultrasound-assessed fetal position in nulliparous women with prolonged first stage of labor.
To ascertain if fetal head position on transabdominal ultrasound is associated with delivery by Cesarean section in nulliparous women with a prolonged first stage of labor. ⋯ OP fetal head position assessed by transabdominal ultrasound was significantly associated with delivery by Cesarean section.

Observational StudyPrevalence of levator ani muscle injury and health-related quality of life in primiparous Chinese women after instrumental delivery.
Levator ani muscle (LAM) injury is common after first vaginal delivery, and a higher incidence is associated with instrumental delivery. This study was conducted to compare the incidence of LAM injury after forceps or ventouse extraction in primiparous Chinese women, and to study their subsequent health-related quality of life. ⋯ In our cohort of primiparous Chinese women, 20.1% (58/289) had LAM injury after instrumental delivery, and forceps delivery was identified as the only risk factor.

Assessment by three-dimensional power Doppler ultrasound of cerebral blood flow perfusion in fetuses with congenital heart disease.
To use three-dimensional (3D) power Doppler ultrasound to investigate cerebral blood flow perfusion in fetuses with congenital heart disease (CHD). ⋯ Cerebral blood flow perfusion was increased relative to controls in most fetuses with CHD and was associated with neurodevelopment scores at 12 months. Prenatal 3D power Doppler ultrasound might help to identify cases of brain vasodilatation earlier and inform parental counseling.

Multicenter StudyAccuracy of ultrasonography performed by examiners with varied training and experience in predicting specific pathology of adnexal masses.
To assess the diagnostic performance of subjective assessment by Level II ultrasound examiners in predicting the specific histology of adnexal masses. ⋯ Overall, subjective assessment by Level II examiners was good for the detection of simple cysts, endometriomas, mature teratomas, hydrosalpinges, fibroma, tubo-ovarian abscess and serous cystadenocarcinomas.
