Meta AnalysisLong-term Effects of Extracorporeal Shock Wave Therapy on Poststroke Spasticity: A Meta-analysis of Randomized Controlled Trials.
The purpose of this meta-analysis was to assess the long-term effects of extracorporeal shock wave therapy (ESWT) on post-stroke spasticity. ⋯ ESWT showed long-term effects in relieving spasticity, while reducing pain, enhancing ROM and motor function in stroke patients.

Randomized Controlled Trial Comparative StudyA Comparative Study of Two Tube Feeding Methods in Patients with Dysphagia After Stroke: A Randomized Controlled Trial.
Dysphagia is a common symptom seen in stroke patients, it not only affects patients' nutrition supply, but also causes aspiration pneumonia. To solve the problem of nutritional support for patients with dysphagia after stroke, nasogastric tubes are routinely indwelling to provide nutrition in China. However, this feeding method sometimes causes food reflux, aspiration, pneumonia, and often affects the patients' comfort and self-image acceptance. ⋯ The IOE tube feeding compared with continuous tube feeding may reduce the incidence of SAP, and improve patients' swallowing function, comfort, psychological status in patients with dysphagia after stroke.

Observational StudyImpaired Cerebrovascular Autoregulation in Large Vessel Occlusive Stroke after Successful Mechanical Thrombectomy: A Prospective Cohort Study.
Successful thrombectomy improves morbidity and mortality after stroke. The present prospective, observational cohort study investigated a potential correlation between the successful restoration of tissue perfusion by mechanical thrombectomy and intact cerebrovascular autoregulation (CA). ⋯ These results suggest that brain perfusion may be affected due to impaired CA even after successful mechanical thrombectomy. Therefore, a tight blood pressure management is of great importance in post-thrombectomy stroke treatment to avoid cerebral hypo- and hyperperfusion.

Delayed Cerebral Ischemia in Patients with Aneurysmal Subarachnoid Hemorrhage - Serum D-dimer and C-reactive Protein as Early Markers.
Identifying patients at risk for delayed cerebral ischemia after an aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage remains challenging and both delayed treatment and over-treatment are reasonable concerns. ⋯ Our observations support a multifactorial genesis for delayed cerebral ischemia, including vasospasm and microthrombotic and inflammatory processes. Serum d-dimer levels greater than .445 µg/ml might be a predictor for the occurrence of delayed cerebral ischemia in patients with a Fisher grade IV aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage.
