Chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy (CIDP) is a potentially disabling health condition. ⋯ High quality trials investigating the combined effectiveness of drugs and exercise using ICF based outcomes should be encouraged.

ReviewScoping review of clinical rehabilitation research pertaining to traumatic brain injury: 1990-2016.
Understanding the impact of disease on function and improving functional outcomes is an important goal of rehabilitation. This scoping review analyzes 25 years of published traumatic brain injury (TBI) clinical rehabilitation research (CRR) to determine the frequency with which function is a research goal. ⋯ This scoping review identifies a need for additional types of clinical research in the field of TBI CRR. Much of the research is aimed at mitigating impairment and controlling symptoms rather than promoting function. Future efforts by the CRR community studying TBI should address this need.

Sleep problems contribute to post-concussive symptoms in service members with a history of mild traumatic brain injury without posttraumatic stress disorder or major depressive disorder.
Many with a history of mild traumatic brain injury (TBI) experience sleep problems, which are also common symptoms of stress-related and mood disorders. ⋯ PTSD symptom severity explained the most variance for post-concussive symptoms among service members with a history of mild TBI, while depression symptoms, daytime dysfunction, and sleep disturbances independently contributed small amounts of variance.

Behavioral treatment for post-traumatic headache after mild traumatic brain injury: Rationale and case series.
Headache is among the most common persistent symptoms after mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI). Currently available treatments have limited efficacy. ⋯ Future directions for behavioral management of headache triggers as a potential treatment for chronic post-traumatic headaches after mTBI are discussed.

Cognitive impairment and health-related quality of life following traumatic brain injury.
Cognitive impairment is a common and disabling consequence of traumatic brain injury (TBI) but its impact on health-related quality of life is not well understood. ⋯ Cognitive impairment is associated with worse health-related quality of life after TBI and partially mediates the effect of depressive symptoms on emotional role functioning.
