Endovascular treatment of brain arteriovenous malformations using a liquid embolic agent: results of a prospective, multicentre study (BRAVO).
To evaluate the safety and efficacy of a new liquid embolic agent in brain arteriovenous malformation (bAVMs) embolisation. ⋯ • Numerous interventional techniques have been used to embolise brain arteriovenous malformations (AVMs). • This prospective multicentre study demonstrates the suitability of a liquid embolic agent. • The safety of treatment using Onyx is acceptable. • Such embolisation leads to complete AVM occlusion in 23.5 % of patients.

Non-invasive detection of biliary leaks using Gd-EOB-DTPA-enhanced MR cholangiography: comparison with T2-weighted MR cholangiography.
To evaluate the added role of T1-weighted (T1w) gadolinium ethoxybenzyl diethylenetriamine penta-acetic acid (Gd-EOB-DTPA)-enhanced magnetic resonance cholangiography (MRC) compared with T2-weighted MRC (T2w-MRC) in the detection of biliary leaks. ⋯ • Magnetic resonance cholangiography (MRC) does not always detect bile leakage and cysto-biliary communications. • Gd-EOB-DTPA-enhanced MRC helps by demonstrating extravasation of contrast material into fluid collections. • Gd-EOB-DTPA-enhanced MRC also demonstrates the leakage site and bile duct injury type. • Combined Gd-EOB-DTPA-enhanced and T2w-MRC can provide comprehensive information about biliary system. • Gd-EOB-DTPA-enhanced MRC is non-invasive and does not use ionising radiation.

To evaluate the feasibility and findings of combined dual-energy computed tomography (DECT) lung ventilation/perfusion imaging in patients with suspected pulmonary embolism (PE). ⋯ • Combined dual-energy CT lung ventilation/perfusion imaging is feasible. • Combined dual-energy CT ventilation/perfusion imaging provides lung morphological and functional information. • Dual-energy CT can demonstrate ventilation/perfusion mismatch in patients with pulmonary embolism.

To compare mono- and bi-exponential T2 analysis in healthy and degenerated Achilles tendons using a recently introduced magnetic resonance variable-echo-time sequence (vTE) for T2 mapping. ⋯ • Magnetic resonance imaging offers new insight into healthy and diseased Achilles tendons • Bi-exponential T2 calculation in Achilles tendons is more beneficial than mono-exponential • A short T2 component correlates strongly with clinical score • Variable echo time sequences successfully used instead of ultrashort echo time sequences.

To propose a new classification for ecchordosis physaliphora (EP) using fast imaging employing steady-state acquisition (FIESTA). ⋯ • Ecchordosis physaliphora (EP) is a rare benign cystic congenital lesion arising from notochord. • The classical type of EP is frequently associated with a T2 hypointense protrusion. • T2 hypointense protrusions without clivus cysts may represent an incomplete type of EP. • Third type of EP variant only harbours lesions within the clivus.
