To investigate long-term pain reduction and 'improvement' in patients with indirect cervical nerve-root-blocks in comparison to MRI findings. ⋯ • Good long term outcomes after indirect nerve root infiltrations with non-particulate steroids. • The presence of nerve root compression was a predictive finding of 'improvement'. • Significantly less patients subsequently having surgery had lower NRS scores 1-month post injection. • There is less pain relief in patients with disc extrusions. • There are less improvement in patients with modic type I changes.

Interest of HYPR flow dynamic MRA for characterization of cerebral arteriovenous malformations: comparison with TRICKS MRA and catheter DSA.
HYPR flow is a 3D dynamic contrast-enhanced MRA technique providing isotropic sub-millimetre resolution with half-second temporal resolution. We compared HYPR flow and time-resolved imaging of contrast kinetics (TRICKS) MRA for the characterization of cerebral arteriovenous malformations (cAVMs), using catheter DSA as reference. ⋯ • Dynamic MRA is used for cerebral AVM depiction and follow-up • HYPR flow is a new, highly-resolved dynamic MRA sequence • HYPR flow provides whole brain coverage • HYPR flow provides excellent agreement with the Spetzler-Martin grade • Compared to TRICKS MRA, HYPR flow improves cerebral AVM characterization.

To determine whether clinical, laboratory or Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) measures differentiate Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis (JIA) from other forms of active childhood arthritis. ⋯ • Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis (JIA) is a diagnosis of exclusion. • Differentiating JIA and other forms of childhood arthritis can be difficult. • MRI-techniques have substantially improved evaluation of joint abnormalities in JIA patients. • MRI-based synovitis is significantly associated with the clinical onset of JIA. • MRI could support physical examination in the early differentiation of childhood arthritis.

Inter-observer agreement for the evaluation of bone involvement on Whole Body Low Dose Computed Tomography (WBLDCT) in Multiple Myeloma (MM).
We aimed to assess inter-observer agreement in bone involvement evaluation and define accuracy and reproducibility of MDCT images analysis in Multiple Myeloma (MM), by comparing two acquisition protocols at two different institutions. ⋯ • MDCT represents a reproducible technique for defining bone disease in MM. • Overall inter-observer agreement is good, even when comparing two different protocols. • Influence of readers' experience on image analysis is partial.

Non-simple nodules in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) correlate with poor prognosis. Therefore, we examined the diagnostic ability of gadolinium-ethoxybenzyl-diethylenetriamine pentaacetic acid-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging (EOB-MRI) and contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) for diagnosing the macroscopic classification of small HCCs. ⋯ • Non-SN has a higher frequency of MVI and intrahepatic metastasis than SN. • Macroscopic classification is useful to choose the treatment strategy for small HCCs. • Diagnostic ability for macroscopic findings of EOB-MRI and CEUS were statistically equal. • The diagnosis of macroscopic findings by individual modality has limitations. • Combined diagnosis of EOB-MRI and CEUS provides high diagnostic ability.
