To evaluate the efficacy of a simplified CT-guided greater occipital nerve (GON) infiltration approach in the management of occipital neuralgia (ON). ⋯ • Occipital neuralgia is a very painful and debilitating condition • GON infiltrations have been successful in the treatment of occipital neuralgia • This simplified technique presents a high efficacy rate with long-lasting pain relief • This infiltration technique does not require contrast media injection for pre-planning • GON infiltration at the first bend appears easier and safer.

To compare the diagnostic accuracy of conditional computed tomography (CT), i.e. CT when initial ultrasound findings are negative or inconclusive, and immediate CT for patients with suspected appendicitis. ⋯ • Conditional CT (CT after negative/inconclusive ultrasound findings) can be used for suspected appendicitis. • Half the number of CT examinations is needed with a conditional strategy. • Conditional CT correctly identifies as many patients with appendicitis as immediate CT. • Conditional imaging results in more false positive appendicitis cases.

Arterial spin labelling (ASL) is a promising MRI sequence that allows noninvasive detection of cortical perfusion alterations in neurodegenerative disorders, but its interpretation remains difficult at an individual level. In this work, a cortical surface-based projection of ASL maps was applied in patients with early-onset Alzheimer's disease (EOAD) to improve the image quality and visual representation of perfusion data. ⋯ • Arterial spin labelling is a promising sequence for assessing Alzheimer's disease. • Optimization of ASL brain perfusion image quality is crucial for image interpretation. • Cortical surface-based analysis may improve detection of perfusion alterations in a real-life clinical setting.

To evaluate the suitability of whole body Ultralow-dose CT (ULD-CT) as a diagnostic tool for the evaluation of ventriculoperitoneal shunt (VP-shunt) complications with special regards to radiation dose and image quality. ⋯ • Ultralow-dose CT accurately detects Ventriculoperitoneal Shunt complications. • Radiation dosage is similar or lower than reported for a radiographic shunt series. • Ultralow-dose CT potentially shortens the diagnostic process when shunt complications are suspected.
