Review Meta Analysis
Magnetic resonance elastography for staging liver fibrosis in non-alcoholic fatty liver disease: a diagnostic accuracy systematic review and individual participant data pooled analysis.
We conducted an individual participant data (IPD) pooled analysis on diagnostic accuracy of MRE to detect fibrosis stage in patients with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). ⋯ • MRE has high diagnostic accuracy for detection of fibrosis in NAFLD. • BMI does not significantly affect accuracy of MRE in NAFLD. • Inflammation had no significant influence on MRE performance in NAFLD for fibrosis.

To evaluate automated texture-based segmentation of dual-energy CT (DECT) images in diffuse interstitial lung disease (DILD) patients and prognostic stratification by overlapping morphologic and perfusion information of total lung. ⋯ • Dual-energy CT (DECT) produces morphologic and parenchymal enhancement information. • Automated lung segmentation enables analysis of disease extent and severity. • This prospective study showed value of DECT in DILD patients. • Parameters on DECT enable characterization and survival prediction of DILD.

To assess the impact of sarcopenia and alterations in body composition parameters (BCPs) on survival after surgery for oesophageal and gastro-oesophageal junction cancer (OC). ⋯ • Sarcopenia is associated with impaired OS after surgery for oesophageal cancer. • Other body composition parameters are also associated with impaired survival. • This influence on survival is independent of established clinical parameters. • Sarcopenia provides a better estimation of cachexia than BMI. • Sarcopenia assessment could be considered in risk/benefit stratification before oesophagectomy.

To assess whether volumetric cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) MRI can be used as a surrogate for brain atrophy assessment and to evaluate how the T2 of the CSF relates to brain atrophy. ⋯ • A 1:11 min CSF MRI volumetric sequence can evaluate brain atrophy. • CSF MRI provides accurate atrophy assessment without partial volume effects. • CSF MRI data can be processed quickly without user interaction. • The measured T 2 of the CSF is related to brain atrophy.
