Efficacy of ultrasound-guided core needle biopsy in cervical lymphadenopathy: A retrospective study of 6,695 cases.
To determine the diagnostic yield of ultrasound-guided core needle biopsy (US-CNB) in cervical lymphadenopathy and identify the factors influencing the diagnostic accuracy of US-CNB. ⋯ • US-CNB is useful for the diagnosis of cervical lymphadenopathy. • US-CNB is safe to perform on lymph nodes located near vital structures. • Larger, malignant, level IV lymph nodes yield sufficient tissue samples more easily.

To evaluate the feasibility of whole-body diffusion-weighted MRI (WB-DWI/MRI) for detecting primary tumour, nodal and distant metastases in pregnant women with cancer. ⋯ • In our study, WB-DWI/MRI was more accurate than conventional imaging during pregnancy. • WB-DWI/MRI improves diagnostic assessment of patients with cancer during pregnancy. • Accurate imaging and oncologic staging improves treatment and outcome.

To investigate the additional value of cervical ultrasonography over 18F-FDG PET/CT for diagnosing cervical lymph node metastases in patients with newly diagnosed oesophageal cancer. ⋯ • Cervical ultrasonography has no value over PET/CT in evaluating cervical node metastases. • PET/CT provides greater diagnostic confidence compared to cervical ultrasonography. • Cervical ultrasonography during standard diagnostic work-up may be considered unnecessary. • Cervical lesions on PET/CT require cytopathological confirmation by FNA.

To evaluate the magnetic susceptibility, ∆χ v , as a surrogate marker of venous blood oxygen saturation, S v O 2, in second- and third-trimester normal human foetuses. ⋯ • Cerebral venous magnetic susceptibility and oxygenation in human foetuses can be quantified. • Cerebral venous oxygenation was not different between second- and third-trimester foetuses. • Foetal cerebral venous oxygenation does not change significantly with advancing gestation.

To explore the feasibility of using amide proton transfer-weighted (APTw) MRI metrics as surrogate biomarkers to identify the O6-methylguanine-DNA methyltransferase (MGMT) promoter methylation status in glioblastoma (GBM). ⋯ • APTw-MRI is applied to predict MGMT promoter methylation status in GBMs. • GBMs with unmethylated MGMT promoter present higher APTw-MRI than methylated GBMs. • Multiple APTw histogram metrics can identify MGMT methylation status. • Mean APTw values showed the highest diagnostic accuracy (AUC = 0.825).
