To evaluate enhancing synovial thickness upon contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of the knee in children unaffected by clinical arthritis compared with clinically active juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) patients. A secondary objective was optimization of the scoring method based on maximizing differences on MRI between these groups. ⋯ • Synovial inflammation is the primary disease feature in juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA). • Appearance of the synovium on contrast-enhanced MRI in unaffected children is unknown. • Validation of existing scoring methods requires comparison between JIA and unaffected children. • Mild enhancing synovial thickening was detected in half of the unaffected children. • Location-weighting for JIA-specific locations increased discriminative value of the scoring methods (p = 0.011).

To evaluate the accuracy of PET/CT using (18)F-fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) with IV contrast for suspected recurrent head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC). ⋯ • FDG-PET/CT is a more accurate post-treatment surveillance tool than ceCT for HNSCC. • FDG-PET/ceCT was useful, irrespective of the time interval after the last treatment. • FDG-PET/ceCT showed high negative predictive value and limited positive predictive value. • The added value of ceCT at FDG-PET/CT is minimal and likely not clinically relevant.

To assess the value of variable flip angle-based T1 liver mapping on gadoxetate disodium-enhanced MRI in patients with primary sclerosing cholangitis (PSC) for evaluation of global and segmental liver function, and determine a possible correlation with disease severity. ⋯ • T1 mapping enables evaluation of global liver function in PSC. • T1 relaxation time reduction correlates with the MELD and MayoRisk Score. • Extrapolated, T1 mapping may allow for segmental evaluation of liver function.

To evaluate the efficacy of ultrasound (US)-guided injections around the lateral femoral cutaneous nerve (LFCN) at different levels in meralgia paraesthetica (MP) patients. ⋯ Meralgia paraesthetica is an entrapment neuropathy of the lateral femoral cutaneous nerve. Ultrasound proved effective in diagnosis and in guiding injection therapy. Injection at the anterior superior iliac spine has been used previously. Multiple injections along the nerve course were used in this study. Long-term follow-up (12 months) confirmed the results.

To compare the diagnostic accuracy of (111)In-pentetreotide-scintigraphy with (68)Ga-DOTATOC-positron emission tomography (PET)/computed tomography (CT) in patients with metastatic-neuroendocrine tumour (NET) scheduled for peptide receptor radionuclide therapy (PRRT). Incremental lesions (ILs) were defined as lesions observed on only one modality. ⋯ Somatostatin receptor PET is superior to SPECT in detecting NET metastases. PET is the scintigraphic method for accurate depiction of NET tumour burden. The sensitivity of PET is twofold higher than the sensitivity of SPECT.
