Recent studies have reported weight gain in virologically suppressed persons living with human immunodeficiency virus (PLWH) switched from older antiretroviral therapy (ART) to newer integrase strand transfer inhibitor (INSTI)-based regimens. In this study, we investigated whether weight gain differs among treatment-naive PLWH starting INSTI-based regimens compared to other ART regimens. ⋯ Treatment-naive PLWH starting dolutegravir-based regimens gained significantly more weight at 18 months than those starting NNRTI-based and elvitegravir-based regimens.

Randomized Controlled Trial
Outpatient Parenteral Antimicrobial Therapy Plus Buprenorphine for Opioid Use Disorder and Severe Injection-related Infections.
In a pilot randomized trial in persons with opioid use disorder hospitalized with injection-related infections, an innovative care model combining outpatient parenteral antimicrobial therapy with buprenorphine treatment had similar clinical and drug use outcomes to usual care (inpatient intravenous antibiotic completion) and shortened hospital length of stay by 23.5 days.
