Pneumothorax as a complication of percutaneous radiofrequency ablation for lung neoplasms.
The present study was performed to determine the frequency of the complication of pneumothorax after radiofrequency (RF) ablation for lung neoplasms and risk factors affecting such pneumothoraces. ⋯ The frequency of pneumothorax after RF ablation in our experience is similar to the frequency of pneumothorax after lung biopsy reported in the literature. Various conditions for RF ablation did not influence the incidence of pneumothorax. Emphysema was the only individual factor that correlated significantly with the development of iatrogenic pneumothorax.

Comparative StudyControl and performance characteristics of eight different suction biopsy devices.
To determine the control and performance characteristics of eight different suction biopsy devices. ⋯ Each of the suction biopsy devices has unique advantages and disadvantages. Suction biopsy devices with the least favorable overall performance were the conventional syringe and the conventional syringe with a plunger lock. The highest overall performance was seen with the RPD and RPD syringe holder.
