Real-Time Ultrasound-Guided Paracentesis by Radiologists: Near Zero Risk of Hemorrhage without Correction of Coagulopathy.
To evaluate the rate and risk factors for hemorrhage in patients undergoing real-time, ultrasound-guided paracentesis by radiologists without correction of coagulopathy. ⋯ Without correction of coagulation abnormalities with prophylactic blood product transfusion, post-procedural hemorrhage is very rare when paracentesis is performed with real-time ultrasound guidance by radiologists.

Irinotecan-Eluting 75-150-μm Embolics Lobar Chemoembolization in Patients with Colorectal Cancer Liver Metastases: A Prospective Single-Center Phase I Study.
The primary end point of this trial was to determine the feasibility and safety of transarterial chemoembolization with the use of 75-150-μm drug-eluting embolics loaded with irinotecan (DEE-IRI) for the treatment of metastatic colorectal cancer (CRC) refractory to systemic chemotherapy. ⋯ Lobar transarterial chemoembolization with the use of DEE-IRI is a technically feasible and well tolerated palliative treatment for patients with refractory liver-predominant CRC metastatic disease and has acceptable pharmacokinetics. VEGFR1 is a potential biomarker for predicting treatment efficacy and risk of adverse events.

Comparative StudyComparison of α-Fetoprotein Criteria and Modified Response Evaluation Criteria in Solid Tumors for the Prediction of Overall Survival of Patients with Hepatocellular Carcinoma after Transarterial Chemoembolization.
To evaluate the value of α-fetoprotein (AFP) classification criteria in predicting tumor response and patient survival and to discuss the agreement between AFP criteria and modified Response Evaluation Criteria In Solid Tumors (mRECIST). ⋯ The defined AFP response moderately correlated with mRECIST response and yielded accurate prognostic prediction in patients with HCC and AFP levels ≥ 400 ng/mL treated with chemoembolization.

Comparative StudyA Comparison between Prethoracoscopy Localization of Small Pulmonary Nodules by Means of Medical Adhesive versus Hookwire.
To compare prethoracoscopy localization of small pulmonary nodules (SPNs) by means of medical adhesive versus hookwire. ⋯ Compared with hookwire, localization via medical adhesive can achieve a flexible time gap between localization and surgery. It also decreases the complication rate and increases convenience owing to no need for an anchor hook.
