Randomized Controlled Trial Multicenter Study Comparative StudyThe Lutonix AV Randomized Trial of Paclitaxel-Coated Balloons in Arteriovenous Fistula Stenosis: 2-Year Results and Subgroup Analysis.
To present final, 2-year results of a randomized trial comparing paclitaxel-coated vs uncoated balloon angioplasty following vessel preparation with ultra-high-pressure percutaneous transluminal angioplasty (PTA) in hemodialysis arteriovenous fistulae (AVFs). ⋯ Two-year results demonstrate long-term safety and variable efficacy of DCB angioplasty in AVFs.

Randomized Controlled TrialA Pilot Randomized Controlled Trial of Novel Dressing and Securement Techniques in 101 Pediatric Patients.
To evaluate feasibility of an efficacy trial comparing peripherally inserted central catheter (PICC) dressing and securement techniques to prevent complications and failure. ⋯ This research suggests safety and acceptability of different securement dressings compared with standard care; securement dressings may also reduce dressing changes after insertion. Further research is required to confirm clinically cost-effective methods to prevent PICC failure.

Randomized Controlled Trial Multicenter Study Comparative StudyA Prospective, Randomized Study of an Expanded Polytetrafluoroethylene Stent Graft versus Balloon Angioplasty for In-Stent Restenosis in Arteriovenous Grafts and Fistulae: Two-Year Results of the RESCUE Study.
To assess the safety and efficacy of an expanded polytetrafluoroethylene stent graft versus balloon angioplasty for the treatment of in-stent restenosis in the venous outflow of hemodialysis access grafts and fistulae. ⋯ Stent-graft use provided better ACPP and TAPP than PTA when treating in-stent restenosis in patients receiving dialysis with arteriovenous grafts and fistulae.

Randomized Controlled Trial Multicenter Study Comparative StudyProspective, Randomized, Concurrently-Controlled Study of a Stent Graft versus Balloon Angioplasty for Treatment of Arteriovenous Access Graft Stenosis: 2-Year Results of the RENOVA Study.
To present final, 2-year data from randomized comparison of an expanded polytetrafluoroethylene stent graft (SG) and percutaneous transluminal angioplasty (PTA) for treatment of arteriovenous graft (AVG) anastomotic stenoses. ⋯ At 2 years, SG use provided a sustained, greater than 2-fold advantage over PTA in treatment area and overall access patency. Time to subsequent intervention was longer in the SG group.

Randomized Controlled Trial Comparative StudyRandomized clinical trial of cutting balloon angioplasty versus high-pressure balloon angioplasty in hemodialysis arteriovenous fistula stenoses resistant to conventional balloon angioplasty.
To compare the efficacy and safety of cutting balloon angioplasty (CBA) versus high-pressure balloon angioplasty (HPBA) for the treatment of hemodialysis autogenous fistula stenoses resistant to conventional percutaneous transluminal angioplasty (PTA). ⋯ Primary and secondary target lesion patency rates of CBA were statistically superior to those of HPBA following suboptimal conventional PTA. For AVF stenoses resistant to conventional PTA, CBA may be a better second-line treatment given its superior patency rates.
