Endoluminal dilation technique to remove "stuck" tunneled hemodialysis catheters.
Most tunneled catheters can be easily removed after the retention cuff is dissected. Occasionally, these catheters can become resistant to removal even after application of potentially hazardous forceful traction. ⋯ The present report describes the successful extraction of five such "stuck" catheters by using a recently described technique of endoluminal dilation. The technique appears safe and straightforward and can be performed in any interventional suite while allowing preservation of venous access.

To investigate the prognostic value of (18)F-fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) positron emission tomography-computed tomography (PET-CT) in predicting survival in patients with unresectable metastatic melanoma to the liver undergoing yttrium-90 ((90)Y) radioembolization. ⋯ MTB based on (18)F-FDG PET-CT performed before treatment was found to be a negative prognostic factor for patient survival after (90)Y radioembolization for unresectable metastatic melanoma to liver.

Indirect computed tomography venography of the lower extremities using single-source dual-energy computed tomography: advantage of low-kiloelectron volt monochromatic images.
To study the performance of dual-energy indirect computed tomography (CT) venography from single-source dual-energy CT in the assessment of lower extremity deep venous thrombosis (DVT). ⋯ Optimal image quality with substantially higher venous attenuation is provided by 50-keV monochromatic images from dual-energy CT venography acquisition compared with 70-keV images. The 50-keV monochromatic images increase the confidence in the image interpretation of DVT and decrease the number of indeterminate studies.
