Radiologically placed tunneled hemodialysis catheters: a single pediatric institutional experience of 120 patients.
To report the outcome of tunneled dialysis catheter insertion in 120 patients. ⋯ Radiologic placement of tunneled hemodialysis catheters is a safe and technically successful procedure in pediatric patients. However, there is a high rate of infectious and mechanical complications, particularly in younger and smaller patients.

Feasibility of ultrasound-guided intranodal lymphangiogram for thoracic duct embolization.
To show the feasibility of opacifying the thoracic duct using ultrasound-guided intranodal lymphangiogram (IL) for thoracic duct embolization (TDE). ⋯ IL is a feasible technique to visualize the thoracic duct for embolization. Using IL, the thoracic duct may be more quickly visualized and catheterized for TDE than with PL.

Increased complexity and complications associated with multiple peripherally inserted central catheter insertions in children: the tip of the iceberg.
To assess the effects of repeated placements of peripherally inserted central catheters (PICCs) on the venous system in children. ⋯ Increased procedural complexity and complications were found with successive PICC insertions. These results confirm the need for a prospective study to directly assess the long-term effects of PICCs on venous patency.

Case ReportsKaposiform hemangioendothelioma with Kasabach-Merritt phenomenon: successful treatment with embolization and vincristine in two newborns.
Kaposiform hemangioendothelioma (KHE) is a rare vascular tumor and has a high mortality in newborns when associated with Kasabach-Merritt syndrome (KMS). In two newborns with KHE and severe KMS refractory to medical treatment, emergency embolization led to clinical improvement in the acute neonatal setting by reducing tumor volume, increasing the platelet count, and improving other clotting parameters. Systemic vincristine treatment was added for further tumor control. Both patients remained symptom-free at long-term follow-up.
