[European Collaboration in Medical Device Assessment: One Step Towards Cross-Border Health Care].
The aim of this paper was to present the legal framework as well as previous experience in transnational collaboration regarding the assessment of medical devices for reimbursement decisions. Furthermore, the possible benefit of transnational collaboration for various stakeholders will be discussed. ⋯ A sustainable transnational collaboration in the assessment of medical devices can ensure cross-border health care as well as efficient collaboration of national health systems. The focus should be on a wide implementation of jointly established methods and quality standards. The European collaboration can lead to a concrete benefit for patients, physicians, HTA organisations and national decision makers.

[What do General Practitioners and Dentists Report about their Cooperation? A Qualitative Exploration].
Against the background of well-described associations between oral and general health, the cooperation between general practitioners (GPs) and dentists is crucial. Besides treatment, this includes prevention. Administrative referral between these two professions is not provided by statute. Thus, the study addresses the question: How do dentists and GPs integrate the associations between oral and systemic health in daily routine? ⋯ Separation by statute determines the cooperation. Oral cavity in daily care is demarcated. Holistic patient care is hindered by a lack of knowledge and daily routines.

[The Load of Injustice: A Longitudinal Analysis of the Impact of Subjectively Perceived Income Injustice on the Risk of Stress-Associated Diseases Based on the German Socio-Economic Panel Study].
Income injustice is regarded as a psychosocial strain and associated with an increased risk of stress-related diseases. The physiological stress response is thereby considered as a central link. The aim of the study is to reveal the influence of subjectively perceived income injustice on stress-associated diseases, taking into consideration the load duration. ⋯ Perceived income injustice seems to be a significant risk factor for stress-related diseases within a dose-response relationship with increasing duration of exposure. Findings of stress research indicate that this represents the 'allostatic load'. Gender-specific differences in stress reaction as well as in the appraisal of the stressors can be associated with gender-specific work and life conditions and therefore provide explanatory approaches for the revealed effects.
