To identify and synthesise the available research evidence in order to generate an explanatory framework for nursing practice in stroke rehabilitation. ⋯ Integrating stroke-specific rehabilitation skills in nurses' practice could contribute substantially to improving outcomes for stroke survivors. The explanatory framework developed from the review findings identifies issues which will need to be addressed in order to maximise nurses' contribution to the rehabilitation of stroke survivors.

To develop a gender-sensitive measure of women's mental health and to evaluate the measure's psychometric properties. ⋯ The Women's Mental Health Scale appears to be a gender-sensitive measure to assess the positive mental health potentials among women population.

To describe changes and transitions in everyday life in the first two years following an intracranial aneurysm rupture. ⋯ Patients experiencing transitions in the recovery period after intracranial aneurysm rupture may benefit from nursing interventions that support them through the transitional process. Nurse-led follow-up care by a specialist nurse from the neurosurgical clinic may be a possible way to provide support.
