Glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) are aggressive brain tumors, which lead to poor overall survival (OS) of patients. OS prediction of GBM patients provides useful information for surgical and treatment planning. Radiomics research attempts at predicting disease prognosis, thus providing beneficial information for personalized treatment from a variety of imaging features extracted from multiple MR images. ⋯ The shape features used in this work have been evaluated for OS prediction of GBM patients for the first time. The feature selection and prediction scheme implemented in this study yielded high accuracy for both 2-class and 3-class OS group predictions. This study was performed using routinely acquired MR images for GBM patients, thus making the translation of this work into a clinical setup convenient.

This meta-analysis was conducted to compare the clinical safety and efficacy of robot-assisted pancreaticoduodenectomy (RAPD) or robot-assisted distal pancreatectomy (RADP) with open surgery. ⋯ Robot-assisted surgery is a safe and feasible alternative to OPD and ODP with regard to perioperative outcomes. However, due to the lack of high-quality randomized controlled trials, the evidence is still limited.

The current sentinel lymph node (SLN) tracer injection procedure for endometrial cancer commonly uses cervical injection, which can detect SLNs of the uterine cervix but not the uterine body. This study describes an SLN tracer injection procedure, titled two-step SLN mapping, which can identify SLNs of the uterine body and cervix using fluorescent imaging with indocyanine green (ICG) and results of SLN biopsy. ⋯ The two-step SLN mapping strategy to identify lymph nodes from the uterine fundus and cervix was feasible. This strategy could be more accurate in identifying paraaortic lymph node metastasis than the cervical injection method.

Cytoreductive surgery (CRS) plus Hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC) is an effective measure for peritoneal carcinomatosis. The cisplatin (CP) applied in HIPEC carries a risk of kidney injury. This study aims to investigate CP-induced nephrotoxicity post HIPEC and to explore its risk factors. ⋯ Application of CP during HIPEC is associated with an increased risk of nephrotoxicity, without promising long-term survival benefit.

Randomized Controlled Trial Multicenter Study
Prehabilitation for radical prostatectomy: A multicentre randomized controlled trial.
Preoperative exercise and fitness are predictors of surgical recovery; however, little is known of the effect of preoperative exercise-based conditioning, known as prehabilitation, in this for men undergoing radical prostatectomy. Our study examined the feasibility and effects of prehabilitation on perioperative and postoperative outcomes in men undergoing radical prostatectomy. ⋯ While feasible and safe, prehabilitation has promising benefits to physical and psychological wellbeing at salient timepoints relative to radical prostatectomy.
