Randomized Controlled Trial Multicenter Study Comparative Study Clinical Trial
Comparison of topical brinzolamide 1% and dorzolamide 2% eye drops given twice daily in addition to timolol 0.5% in patients with primary open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension.
The aim was to compare topical brinzolamide 1% twice daily with dorzolamide 2% twice daily, each given with timolol 0.5% twice daily, for safety and effects on intraocular pressure in patients with primary open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension. ⋯ In terms of intraocular pressure reduction, brinzolamide 1% twice daily was equivalent to dorzolamide 2% twice daily, each added to timolol 0.5% twice daily, but brinzolamide produced significantly less ocular burning and stinging.
