Scabies increased the risk of chronic kidney disease: a 5-year follow-up study.
The most documented complication of scabies has been reported to be infection by group A streptococci, which has in turn been suggested to contribute to the development of glomerulonephritis. ⋯ We concluded that there was an increased risk for CKD among patients suffering from scabies.
