The compatibility of chemical gingival margin displacement agents with polyether impression materials has not been determined. The aim of this study was to evaluate the setting time of polyether impression elastomers after contact with conventional and experimental gingival displacement agents. ⋯ The present findings suggest that experimental retraction agents can be recommended clinically as gingival margin displacement agents with minimal effects on the setting time of medium- and light-body polyether impression materials; however, direct contact of chemical displacement agents and polyether impression materials can be avoided.

To survey chairs of prosthodontics or restorative departments and program directors of postdoctoral prosthodontic programs in the United States regarding digital denture fabrication. The key objectives of the survey were to identify the current trends in complete denture fabrication using CAD/CAM technology and to determine how and to what extent this technique is taught and used in U.S. pre- and postdoctoral prosthodontic programs. ⋯ All program directors and department chairs who participated in the survey are aware of this technology with the exception of one department chair. More than half of the program directors reported that they have incorporated this technology in their curricula compared to only 12% of department chairs. Currently, only 10% or less of complete denture cases are processed using the CAD/CAM technology, at either the post- or predoctoral levels. Both groups reported that the main use of this technology is for the fabrication of denture bases and for processing dentures including the try-in step. The majority of respondents in both groups indicated they plan to add digital denture fabrication into their curricula within the next 1 to 4 years.

The aim of this study was to evaluate the durability of lithium disilicate crowns bonded on abutments prepared with two types of finish lines after long-term cyclic loading. ⋯ Pressed lithium disilicate ceramic crowns may not require invasive finish line preparations since finish line type did not impair the strength after aging conditions.

Case Reports
Maxillary sinusitis caused by dental implants extending into the maxillary sinus and the nasal cavities.
This report describes the case of a patient who underwent osseointegrated dental implant placement. The implants were misplaced inside the nasal fossae and in the right maxillary sinus, causing chronic purulent sinusitis. ⋯ The patient underwent functional endoscopic sinus surgery with complete symptom remission at the long-term follow-up. We propose that sinusitis caused by protrusion of implants and by sinus floor lift procedures could share common physiopathological patterns and predisposing factors.

Randomized Controlled Trial Comparative Study
The efficacy of gabapentin versus stabilization splint in management of sleep bruxism.
This study aimed to determine if the use of gabapentin is more efficacious than a stabilization splint with regard to the intensity of masseter muscle contractions and/or sleep quality for patients experiencing sleep bruxism (SB). ⋯ Gabapentin could be an effective treatment modality in SBs, especially in those with poor sleep quality.
