Observational Study
Assessing the cone of economy in patients with spinal disease using only a force plate: an observational retrospective cohort study.
This is a retrospective cohort with multiple regression modeling. ⋯ Cone of economy was estimated from force plate data using center of pressure with high correlation without the use of motion capture in healthy controls and a variety of spine patients. This could lower the entry burden for measurement of the CoE in patients, enabling widespread use. This would provide surgeons objective global balance data, along with Haddas' CoE classification system, that could assist with surgical decision-making and facilitate objective monitoring surgical outcomes.

There are data underlining the relationship between muscle health and spine related pathology, but little data regarding changes in paralumbar muscle associated with lumbar spondylolisthesis. We aimed to define changes in paralumbar muscle health associated with spondylolisthesis. ⋯ There are significant detrimental changes to paralumbar muscle health throughout the lumbar spine associated with spondylolisthesis.

To identify the different apex and transitional vertebra according to the shape of the pelvis of individuals despite their difference in sagittal alignment using our measurement system. ⋯ Our study allowed the assessment of the distribution of spine curvatures according to the pelvic incidence. It describes the occurrence of localization of the apex and transitional vertebrae according to pelvic incidence. These results should be taken into account during the analysis of the sagittal balance, especially when planning deformity surgery in adults.

We investigated the prevalence of Modic changes (MCs) and associated pathologies in pediatric patients. ⋯ Diagnostic: individual l cross-sectional studies with consistently applied reference standard and blinding.

BME on MRI has become the gold standard for the diagnosis of acute/subacute OVCF, but the correlation between the quantitative model of BME and histopathological manifestations of OVCF is rarely discussed in the literature. ⋯ Bone marrow edema significantly correlates with bone morphology parameters after vertebral fracture. The characteristics of histomorphological changes during fracture healing process can be preliminarily determined by observing the edema signal.
