The aim of the present study was to validate the hypothesis that multiple drug exposure is an independent risk factor for serious adverse drug reactions (ADRs). ⋯ A new level of nursing involvement is needed in both the detection of ADRs and prevention of serious outcomes, particularly in high-risk patients.

The purpose of the present study is to examine the barriers and facilitators to evidence-based practice (EBP) using Shortell's framework for continuous quality improvement (CQI). ⋯ The findings of the present study can help nurses identify barriers and implement strategies to promote EBP as part of CQI.

This study evaluated the application of the Comprehensive Conflict Coaching model in a hospital environment. ⋯ Conflict is common in nursing. Conflict coaching is a new conflict communication and supervision intervention that demonstrates initial promise. Conflict coaching seems to work best when supported by a positive conflict culture and integrated with other conflict intervention processes.

With many countries facing current or impending nursing shortages, considering the impact of the multigenerational workforce, their needs and behaviours may impact on efforts to recruit and retain nurses. ⋯ Recruiting and retaining a workforce increasingly made up of nurses from many generational groups is a challenge that can be tackled with a deeper understanding of each of the commonly identified generational groups.
