Obstructive sleep apnea affects complication rates following knee arthroscopy but use of continuous positive airway pressure is not protective against complications.
Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) has not been studied as a risk factor for complications following knee arthroscopy. The goals of this study were to: (1) compare complication rates after knee arthroscopy between patients with and without OSA and (2) evaluate whether continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) mitigated complication rates. ⋯ III.

Comparative StudyIncreased knee laxity with hamstring tendon autograft compared to patellar tendon autograft: a cohort study of 5462 patients with primary anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction.
To compare anterior knee laxity and patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs) between anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction (ACLR) performed with bone-patellar tendon-bone (BPTB) and hamstring tendon (HT) autografts and, moreover, to study any correlation between postoperative anterior knee laxity and PROMs. ⋯ Retrospective cohort study, Level III.

The concomitant lateral meniscus injury increased the pivot shift in the anterior cruciate ligament-injured knee.
Concomitant meniscus injuries in the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) have been suggested to exacerbate rotational laxity. However, the effect is supposed to be so small, if any, that some quantitative pivot-shift measurement is needed. The purpose of this prospective study was to determine the effect of meniscus tear on rotational laxity in ACL-deficient knees by an quantitative measurement. It was hypothesized that a concomitant meniscus tear, especially a lateral one, would induce greater pivot shift. ⋯ Diagnostic study, Level III.

Degenerative isolated cartilage defects of the patellofemoral joint are associated with more severe symptoms compared to trauma-related defects: results of the German Cartilage Registry (KnorpelRegister DGOU).
The purpose of this study was to utilize data from the German Cartilage Registry (KnorpelRegister DGOU) to examine the hypothesis that degenerative cartilage defects of the patellofemoral joint are associated with more severe clinical symptoms compared to trauma-related defects. ⋯ III.
