Observational StudyAssociation between serological indicators of past contacts with Herpesviridae and a slower resolution of chronic spontaneous urticaria in children.
To evaluate the relationship between serological indicators of Herpesviridae infection and evolution of symptoms in children with chronic spontaneous urticaria (CSU). ⋯ A history of CMV/EBV/HHV-6 infection might contribute to a slower-resolving CSU in children.

Meta AnalysisInfection with human cytomegalovirus, Epstein-Barr virus, and high-risk types 16 and 18 of human papillomavirus in EGFR-mutated lung adenocarcinoma.
To assess the frequency of human cytomegalovirus (HCMV), Epstein-Barr virus (EBV), and high-risk types of human papillomavirus (HPV16 and HPV18) infections in lung adenocarcinoma samples. ⋯ HCMV, EBV, and high-risk HPV infections are more frequent in EGFR-mutated lung adenocarcinomas, which indicates a possible viral impact on the etiology of this lung cancer subtype.

ReviewAssociation between colonization of the respiratory tract with Ureaplasma species and bronchopulmonary dysplasia in newborns with extremely low gestational age: a retrospective study.
To ascertain the incidence of respiratory tract colonization in extremely low gestational age newborns (ELGANs) with Ureaplasma parvum and Ureaplasma urealyticum and determine if there is a difference in the severity of bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD) between ELGANs with and without Ureaplasma species (spp) colonization. ⋯ U. parvum and U. urealyticum could be associated with the development of BPD in ELGANs.

ReviewCortical interneurons in schizophrenia - cause or effect?
GABAergic cortical interneurons are important components of cortical microcircuits. Their alterations are associated with a number of neurological and psychiatric disorders, and are thought to be especially important in the pathogenesis of schizophrenia. Here, we reviewed neuroanatomical and histological studies that analyzed different populations of cortical interneurons in postmortem human tissue from patients with schizophrenia and adequately matched controls. ⋯ Nevertheless, a large number of data on interneurons in schizophrenia is still inconclusive, with different studies yielding opposing findings. Furthermore, no studies found a clear link between interneuron alterations and clinical outcomes. Future research should focus on the causes of changes in the cortical microcircuitry in order to identify potential therapeutic targets.
