To assess long-term benefit of laparoscopic appendectomy for chronic abdominal pain of unknown origin in fertile women. ⋯ Diagnostic laparoscopy is a diagnostic and therapeutic option in most fertile women with chronic abdominal right iliac fossa pain of unknown origin. Our results showed low postoperative complications and no mortality rate with laparoscopic appendectomy indicate removal of appendix as a part of diagnostic laparoscopy when the origin of pain is unknown. In some cases of persistent pain, the removal of appendix is beneficial by eliminating appendicitis in differential diagnosis.

Case ReportsPercutaneous transluminal angioplasty with stenting in extended supra-aortic artery dissection.
A 51-year-old man underwent two percutaneous transluminal angioplasties with stenting for a dissection that extended from the right brachiocephalic trunk into the proximal part of the internal carotid artery. The patient presented with transient dysphasia one month after surgical treatment of a type A dissecting aortic aneurysm. ⋯ At follow-up 29 months after stent implantation, the patient was asymptomatic and ultrasound examination demonstrated no recurrence of dissection at the stented segment. This case suggests that stenting could be a successful treatment of cervical artery dissection.
